DescriptionAntique Belle Epoque era French .800 silver figural dress cane handle or parasol handle. Beautifully crafted in the form of a parrot. The multitude of beautifully rendered feathers are finely executed in crisp detail, and the features are just charming. Having glass eyes. In good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. Some scuffing to the top and beak, a slight impression on the front edge of the beak. Hallmarked with the French head of the wild boar, in use from 1838 to indicate a silver content of .800/1000. Bearing a maker's mark appears to be for silversmith LĂ©on Kopf, active from 1891 to 1923 at 43 rue Greneta, Paris. Measures 2" length x 1 1/4" wide.
