Single Channel Stahl Safety Barrier. Part#9001/51-280-091-141Description
Safety barriers are used to connect intrinsically safe (Ex i) circuits with non-intrinsically safe circuits. The barriers limit the electrical energy towards the hazardous area by means of a combination of Zener diodes, resistors and fuses.
• Application specific for HART / SMART transmitters
• Grounded field device
• Input to control system elevated above 0 V
• Allows the connection of unregulated power supplies, Vnom between + 20 to 35 V DC
• Approved for installation in Division 2 and Zone 2

The Stahl safety barriers enable the intrinsic safe operation of the HMT360 Series Transmitters. Each 4-20mA output of the HMT360 Series requires a barrier. Safety barriers should be located outside the hazardous area. The Stahl part number is 9001/51-280-091-141.
This Stahl barrier is acceptable to use if the supply voltage to the barrier is between 24-35VDC, the cable length between the transmitter and the barrier is less than 300m, and the external load created by additional components in the loop is less than 200ohms. If the installation requirements do not satisfy these parameters, then please contact Stahl for their recommendation.
The barriers can be mounted on a DIN rail or optional wall mountable general purpose electronics enclosure.
